![]() Solution5 : XP or Win7withXPdrivers - disable onboard graphics using eGPU Setup 1. Solution4 : Use eGPU Setup 1.x PCI Compaction. Solution3 : Use Win7 to do a PCI relocation as described. If you decide to not use the exp gdc due to problems, definitely chech out the pe4c (mini pcie) dock. Solution2 : Use Win8.x (WDM 1.2) that allows the primary video device to be disabled, freeing up resources for the eGPU to use. Constant crashes and caused my gpu's coil whine to be annoyingly loud. I did end up needing a dsdt over ride (which by the way can cause issues with some anti cheats)Īs an aside, the exp gdc was terrible. If it does this you could then manually download the driver from nvidia website to install and then try to see if the egpu works.Īt some point I had an exp gdc (expresscard) and the only way I managed to get it to boot (otherwise laptop wouldnt turn on) was by using this method (though eventually I just started plugging it in just after the boot splash screen). What might happen is in device manager, after clicking scan for hardware changes, under display adaptors it should show something like "basic display adaptor". I have reinstalled windows in UEFI Mode but well nothing changed, so my last possibility I see here is to use the DIY eGPU Setup 1.With ATX pwr switch set to on, try booting into windows and then plugging the hdmi cable into the exp gdc (keep wifi off so auto driver downloads dont happen). So well I think the port is being blocked by the bios. If i disconnect the hdmi cable from the exp gdc, power on the lap and when I enter the boot menu I qickly can connect the hdmi to exp gdc and the gpu and I can boot into windows, but in device manager it doesnt get detected and i think the ngff port gets disabled and some rare in fact is that when I plug the cable in exp gdc my cpu fan goes like crazy but is fine somehow it doesnt represent a problem when I monitor it with HW Info and of course the pci port gets disabled and doesnt show up. And i can say that cause even when I plug the hdmi cable in the exp with no egpu even with the psu off, my laptop doesnt boot even to show the bios or logo before booting to windows (Totally blackscreen without any video signal). hotswaping the wifi adpter, but nothing funcion for me and well I think is just that my bios is blocking my port, I use the ngff version. FOR SALE DIY eGPU Setup 1. I have an asus vivobook x556urk, I bought a Rx580 to avoid drivers problems, I disabled the dedicated gpu I have via pci bus in device manager, and well i have attempted all kinds of things like delays on exp gdc. DIY EGPU SETUP 1.35 (was Setup 1.x) software by nando4 - 19.38. □ Hi everyone recently I bought an egpu setup at least it seems the adapter, and psu works fine but I have a doubt about it. ![]()
